El Centre de Lingüística Teòrica (CLT) de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona té una trajectòria com a grup de recerca que es remunta a començament dels anys vuitanta. És un Grup de Recerca Consolidat Gran des del 1993 (2005SGR-00753), reconegut com a Centre d'Estudis i Recerca de la UAB el maig de 2006.

La seva àrea d’investigació és la teoria gramatical, en un sentit ampli del terme, i l’equip de lingüistes que el forma fa recerca teòrica i experimental en camps que inclouen la fonologia, la morfologia, la lexicologia, la sintaxi i la semàntica. La voluntat del CLT és contribuir a entendre millor com s’estructuren les llengües naturals i com són processades pels éssers humans.

Les activitats de recerca que s'hi desenvolupen s’orienten fonamentalment a l’estudi de les propietats universals del llenguatge i a la identificació de patrons de microvariació entre les llengües naturals.

Adoptem una metodologia integradora que parteix d’una forta orientació generativa, alhora que incorpora procediments tècnics propis dels estudis sobre adquisició i prosòdia.

 

Historial del CLT

 

 

The Center for Theoretical Linguistics (Centre de Lingüística Teòrica—CLT ) is a research group which was founded at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in the early 1980s.

The focus of research at the CLT is grammatical theory in broad sense of the term, and the linguists who make up our group come from experimental and theoretical research backgrounds in diverse fields including phonology, morphology, lexicology, syntax, and semantics. The goal of the CLT is to contribute to a fuller understanding of how natural languages are structured and how they are processed by human beings.

Our research activity basically revolves around the study of the universal properties of language and the identification of patterns of microvariation among the natural languages.

While our approach has on an essentially generative orientation, we have adopted an integrative methodology which incorporates technical procedures of prosody and language acquisition.
