- Frank H. Stephen.
Frank H Stephen has been a Professor in the Economics Department of the University of Strathclyde since 1990 and is Joint Editor of the European Journal of Law and Economics and Managing Editor of the Journal of Economic Studies’.
He has published in a wide range of journals (including American
Economic Review, Economic Journal, Canadian Journal of Economics, International
Review of Law and Economics, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical
Economics, Managerial and Decision Economics, Applied Economics, Business
and Economic History, Hume Papers on Public Policy, Economics of Small
Business, Urban Law and Policy), written two books (one of which
has been translated into Brazilian Portuguese) and edited a further
three. Frank has held visiting appointments at Cornell University, Toronto
Law School, Universidade Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), Group EM Toulouse
and University College Cork. He is an external member of the Business
Efficiency and Competitiveness research group of the Department of Business
Economics at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. Frank’s current
research interests are on the interface between economics and the law
with three main areas: impact of legal rules on the financial system
and economic growth, economics of the criminal justice system and competition

- Miguel García Cestona.
Miguel García-Cestona is an Associate Professor of Managerial Economics at the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona (UAB) and serves also as a scientific advisor of the Centre d'Economia Industrial within the Fundació Empresa i Ciencia (UAB).
His research interests are in the fields of corporate governance, the theory of the firm and comparative institutional analysis. Recent papers deal with the governance mechanisms and efficiency of the Spanish Savings Banks, the Mondragon Cooperatives and the use of Golden Shares. He graduated from Universidad de Zaragoza and he holds and M.A and a Ph.D. from Stanford University at the Graduate School of Business.

- Enric Genescà Garrigosa.
Enric Genescà Garrigosa es Catedrático de Economía de la Empresa (área de Organización de Empresas) de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona desde el año 1981 y es también Director del Comité de Estudios del Centro de Economía Industrial de la misma Universidad.
En la actualidad su investigación se centra en torno a la Dirección Estratégica de la Empresa y a los factores microorganizativos de competitividad. Ha publicado en diversas revistas nacionales e internacionales (Papeles de Economía Española, Economía Industrial, Información Comercial Española, Omega,...) y, en forma de libros o capítulos de libro, en diversas editoriales nacionales e internacionales (Avebury, Masson, Civitas,...).

- Carles Gispert Pellicer.
Carles Gispert is associate professor (professor titular numerari) and
PhD. in Business Economics, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
His research interest focus on corporate governance in a broad sense.
More specifically, he has done empirical research about structure of the
board of directors, executive compensation and ownership concentration,
focusing on the effects of these variables on the firm performance. He
was visiting fellow in Tilburg University (the Netherlands), and
visiting scholar in London Business School. His scientific research
has been published at international journals as Review of Labour
Economics and Industrial Relations and Journal of Management and
Governance among others, and Spanish journals such as Investigaciones

- Emili Grifell Tatjè.
Professor in Business Economics at the Departament d'Economia de l'Empresa, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 1997.
He has done theoretical research in the fields of efficiency and productivity analysis, productivity accounting, managerial economics, strategy risk, electricity economics and mainly applied it in the analysis of the Spanish banking system: Savings banks, commercial banks, financial cooperatives; Spanish insurance firms and electricity distribution. His work has been published in Management Science,European Economic Review, The Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Journal of Productivity Analysis, Journal of Comparative Economics, European Journal of Operational Research, Economics Letters, Omega among others. Some of his research has been reprinted in the collection "International Library of Critical Writings in Economics", Edward Elgar Publishing. Spanish publications in Investigaciones Económicas, Spanish Economic Review, Cuadernos de Economía y Gestión de Empresas and Papeles de Economía Española among others.

- Eva Jansson.
Associate Professor (Profesora Titular) at the Departament d'Economia de l'Empresa of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 1990.
Her research interests have been in fiscal policy and regulations of service sectors. Recently her main research is focused on Corporate Governance, particularly international comparison of ownership structures and changes in ownership structures of Spanish firms. - Pilar López Belbeze.
She is associate professor (Profesor Titular) in the Marketing Area since 2002.
She graduated in the University of Zaragoza and obtained her Ph.D. in 1997 from Autonomous University of Barcelona. Her research interest have been in marketing strategy and market orientation, particularly in the analysis of the implications of market orientation in marketing organization and/or in marketing strategy. She has focused her papers in the main Spanish marketing journals, as Revista Española de Investigación en Marketing- ESIC and Cuadernos de Economía de la Empresa, among others.

- Judit Montoriol Garriga.
Judit Montoriol Garriga is an Assistant Professor of Managerial Economics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
Judit obtained her PhD at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2006). The main research interests of Judit are financial intermediation, corporate finance and corporate governance. In terms of methodology, her expertise is Applied Microeconometrics, and in particular, Panel Data Models. She was previously external consultant for the World Bank (WashingtonD.C.) and was a visiting scholar at New YorkUniversity. She has presented her research at international conferences, like the EFA 2005 and EEA 2006.

- Pedro Ortín Ángel.
Associate Professor (Profesor Titular) at the Departament d'Economia de l'Empresa of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 1998.
His research interest is in general the economic analysis of the
firm organization and mainly the economic analysis of the human resources
policies, personnel economics. Although he has done research on accounting
or economic analysis of law, his prior research has been focused on the executive's
compensation policies and hierarchical organizations. This research has
been published at international journals as Journal of Labor Economics,

- Antoni Serra Ramoneda.
Antoni Serra Ramoneda is a Full Professor of Managerial Economics at the
Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona (UAB). Founding Member of the Universitat
Autònoma de Barcelona and the Departament d'Economia de l'Empresa.
He has been one of the Spanish pioneers in the application of economic
analysis to management issues as his several books published on this area
corroborate.
As a reputed academician, he has also occupied different high responsibility
positions, both inside and outside the university. Among others, he has being
President (Rector) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and, currently, he

- Natalia Utrero González.
Natalia Utrero Gonzalez is a Visiting Professor of Managerial Economics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
Natalia obtained her PhD at Carlos III University. Her fields of interest are corporate finance,
law and finance and corporate governance. She was previously appointed as a researcher at the Center for Studies in Economics and Finance (University of Salerno)
and has participated in the RTN programme “Understanding Financial Architecture”, funded by the European Commission. Her papers have been presented at major conferences,

- Stefan van Hemmen.
Associate Professor (Profesor Titular) at the Departament d'Economia de l'Empresa of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 2002.
His research interests are in the law and economics, bankruptcy and
financial economics. An example of his empirical research can be found
at SSRN.com, and in Spanish journals such as Hacienda Pública, among
others. He has also published in Spanish academic law and bankruptcy
journals, on the economic consequences of the recent reform of the Bankruptcy
